ANN ARBOR, MI—(March 19, 2014)—Don DeSmith, president of Servant Systems, Inc. (www.servantsystems.com), announced that the software firm has released MassTimes for Travelers, an Apple iPhone app developed for the Mass Times Trust. The Mass Times Trust, a service of FAITHCatholic and the Diocese of Lansing (Michigan), provides the Masstimes.org website, a ministry to help Catholics get to Mass by allowing them to find churches and worship times worldwide. Masstimes.org has had more than 150 million church lookups.
Servant Systems, with assistance from Lunaria Software, LLC, developed the native iPhone app to provide mobile users with the ability to find Catholic Masses and other services based on the user’s current location or any location they enter. Churches are displayed on a map or listed by distance from the user. Church services also can be displayed by time of day to help users find a service at a convenient time. Available online at the Apple App Store as a free download, the iPhone app also displays directions to the church selected and allows the user to call the church automatically.
A member of the Microsoft Partner Network since 1992, Servant Systems is a software solutions provider to international franchise systems and organizations requiring custom solutions. Servant Systems develops applications for business operations, as well as mobile applications. Servant Systems is a member of the International Franchise Association.
FAITH Catholic began in 2000 as a magazine for the Diocese of Lansing and, in 2003, began publishing for other dioceses and Catholic organizations. In 2009, FAITH merged with the diocese’s 40-year-old liturgical publisher, Liturgical Commission Publishings, to form FAITH Catholic. FAITH Catholic also operates Masstimes.org, a powerful tool for travelers to locate a church and Mass near them, and commissioned Servant Systems to build the Mass Times app.
